Your desk job is changing your posture. It's fixable.

You've been working hard. Long days, a laptop, and a chair that was never set up for you. It crept up slowly — a tight neck by mid-afternoon, shoulders that sit somewhere near your ears, a lower back that complains when you finally stand up.

Nothing is torn. Nothing showed up on a scan. But you can feel your body changing, and you'd rather deal with it now than in ten years.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Your neck and upper back ache by the end of the workday
  • You catch your reflection and your shoulders are rounded forward
  • Headaches that start at the base of your skull
  • Your lower back is stiff when you stand up from your desk
  • You've bought the standing desk and it didn't fix it

Why it happens

Sitting isn't the villain — staying in any one position is. Muscles that hold you upright get long and weak, the ones at the front get short and tight, and your body quietly reorganises around the shape you spend most of your day in.

Posture isn't about sitting up straight. It's about having enough strength and range to move out of a position easily. That's trainable, at any age, and usually faster than people expect.

What we'd actually do

  1. 1

We assess how you actually move

Not just where it hurts. We look at your neck, mid-back, hips and shoulders together, because they're all part of the same chain.

  2. 2

Hands-on treatment for the tight bits

Manual therapy and, where it helps, dry needling — to give you the range back before we ask you to build strength into it.

  3. 3

Clinical Pilates to make it stick

This is where posture work actually holds. Prescribed on the reformer, supervised one-to-one, building the strength that keeps you upright without thinking about it.

How long it takes

Most people notice a difference in how they feel at the end of a workday within three or four sessions. Lasting change — the kind where you stop thinking about it — usually takes a couple of months of consistent work.

Who you'd see

What patients say

I started seeing Jaspreet at Joybody last year after a fall. She is very knowledgeable, patient and thorough. She explains everything well and tailors the treatment to my needs. The clinic is also a very calming and welcoming environment. I highly recommend booking with Jaspreet as I've seen real progress thanks to her guidance!

I had an amazing experience with my Physiotherapist, Jaspreet. She made me feel completely safe, calm, and comfortable despite my fear of needles, which I truly appreciated. Thanks to her care and expertise, my back pain from weightlifting…

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need a referral?

    No. You can book directly.

  • Is this covered by my benefits?

Yes — both physiotherapy and Clinical Pilates are typically 95–100% covered by extended health benefits.

  • I'm not in pain, just stiff. Is that worth an appointment?

Yes, and honestly it's the best time to come. Stiffness that hasn't yet become pain is much quicker to resolve.

  • Will you tell me to buy a standing desk?

No. Equipment helps at the margins, but the thing that changes your posture is strength and movement variety. We'll work on that.

Most new patients are seen within 24 hours.
